HENNA EVEN BETTER + CAMINO DAY #25

Happy Friday!

First, El Camino de Santiago Update:

Today is a rest day on the Camino de Santiago.  I wrote this post before I left and set it to go out automatically today. Since I knew our schedule more or less in advance, I can tell you that we just linked up with our dear friend Sheri in Lyon, Spain and tomorrow we start part 2 of this journey – the biking! We missed you Sheri! We have about 250 miles to cover from Lyon to Muxia on the coast in 11 days. I will keep you posted on our Camino travels throughout this month and next. Buen Camino! To view our Camino journey, follow me on Instagram – mybelavie and pelican_finn.

Henna even better

I am a big fan of henna, a natural way to color your hair. If you missed my prior post on henna, click here. Just before I left for El Camino, I went to see my super fabulous hairdresser and friend, Manuela at her new salon – Red Carpet in Coral Gables. Every month or so, Manuela applies the henna for me, which is soooo nice. She is a true professional. We started talking about the ease of the whole henna experience now that we both have been on this journey together for some months.

I wondered, would everyone be as nutty as me to wear a wool hat in in Miami in the summer and let the henna sit for 4 hours before it needed to be washed out? It wasn’t an ideal scenario for me either but I was determined to stick with the henna and keep trying to find ways to make the process easier. Well, it just got better.

This last time, I washed and blow dried my hair before I went to Red Carpet. Since the back and ends looked great and Manuela only applied the henna on the roots, she was able to cover my head with saran wrap and then I put a cute beach hat on over it and went on with my day like nothing. I had an great Indian lunch with a friend straight after.

Life goes on with henna and it’s au natural as they say in French. Oh la la!

The picture on the right was created by Manuela and posted to her Instagram account. I was happy to help show people that henna works, keeps the hair strong and healthy and the process is really quite easy to manage!

Have a beautiful weekend.
